USC Students Vs. LAPD
USC students planned a block party last Friday night, that turned into a semi-riot. USC campus safety officials could not control that number of people and LAPD was called to clear out the situation. There were reports of tasering, night sticking, pepper gunning, and overall excessive police violence. Several people were arrested.
It gets exciting around the 3 minute mark. After about 4:30 it starts shaking, word to Cloverfield. There are other videos here.
I was there for the beginning but left once I saw officers go to their trunks. Pepper spray or whatever they want to use is really not fun. People should have gone home once the Riot Squad showed up; these guys are trained and prepared to beat down a agitated crowd. Also these professional riot-stoppers are pissed because you are taunting them and throwing beer bottles at them. And then on top of that, what was the point? I'm all for demonstrations in the name of a cause but this was a case of spoiled students throwing a huge tantrum.
Stop listening to rap thinking it has meaning for you and do your homework!

Jordan VI Carmine Retro
Jordan, as you may or may not know, has some treats in store for us this year. Here is a peek at the Air Jordan XI that will accompany the XVII. The idea being pairs of shoes that add up the the number "23" for the 23 year. The XVII's are rumored to be the black versions (minus the suitcase and extras, I'm assuming).

A Sad Day...
Continuing the foolery that is Soulja Boy, it was a shame that I found this video on MLK day...
Words cannot describe my sentiments...

Say What?!
In an interview with MTV, Soulja Boy believes he is, in fact, the hottest MC in the game right now, and should have been on their recent Top 10 list:
“I think if y’all did it right now, yeah, I deserve to be on there. But back there, when y’all did it, I probably didn’t have the status that I have right now. I’m Grammy-nominated. If I look at the new list and I compare myself to all 10 of the artists and some don’t add up, I’ll be like, ‘Wow. I should be #1 if it’s right now. I’m #1.”
Soulja Boy was more candid when asked how he ranks specifically against alumni of the first Hottest MCs list, like Weezy, ‘Ye and Jay-Z.
“Right now, yes [I’m hotter than them]. Today, January — whatever the date this is — 2008, yes [I am the hottest].”
Three simple words to describe this...SMACK MY HEAD...

The Satorialist's Show
After thumbing through several issues of GQ magazine, you'll sure to enjoy the style tips of the Scott Schuman. His skill and knowledge in fashion has given him the opportunity to showcase and sell some of his photos and the Danziger Projects in New York. If you are in the area, I highly recommend checking it out. But if you can't make it out there, you can check his work on his blog or here .

See you Soon!
So here we are...only 2 teams left and 10 days remaining. In what is truly a David vs Goliath match-up, the Giants are going to have to pull out all the stops to pull off one of the greatest upsets in NFL history. We'll see if either team can make history, and if the game is anything like when they last played, it should be a good Sunday. Be sure to vote for your winner on the poll and leave comments! (Be nice though)...

Cloverfield Review
So this may be a little late, but the show has been sold out all weekend. Just got back from seeing Cloverfield and I have to say it was a very good movie. It was pretty much exactly what I expected in terms of story and style. The filming worked really well and the actors did a decent job with their respective roles. The monster was pretty dope as well. I've heard rumors of a sequel which I have mixed feelings about due to the way the mystique allowed this one to be such a success. Anyway, you should check it out, you'll be amped through the whole thing...

Upset Saturday in NCAA Basketball
There were some crazy games today in College basketball. On the East coast, Maryland gave #1 UNC their first loss 82-80. And on the West coast, USC fought back to give #4 UCLA its second loss of the season and their first in the Pac-10. Only 2 unbeaten teams left with Memphis and Kansas...Who's ready for March???

Pretty cool interview with the co-owner of Undefeated . The sneaker shops are sprinkled around the LA area and are a great place to visit. The stores offer a great selection of limited sneakers. You know, the type that have you telling your friends " Oh you mad cuz I'm stylin' on you ".

The Hot Spitta
If you are not familiar with Curren$y's earlier work, then check out one of the many Lil Wayne mixtapes. He is currently doing the independent thing due to money issues with Cash Money Records (money issues at CMR? shocking, I know). But this here should be reason enough why he needs to put an album out soon. Enjoy!
Oh and peep the liteweight shots at Birdman Jr.

Ok, so remember when you were younger and you would get home after school and turn on Cartoon Network to watch Dragon Ball Z? You would wade through 18 minutes of stationary characters, to get to some dope fight scene between Vegeta and Frieza. Well nostalgia is back with James Wong's adaptation of the series in theatrical form. Some leaked pictures for you to salivate over are provided .

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Delayed...Again...March 9th
Launch title...Spring '07...Summer '07...December 3rd...February 10th...
What has been one of the most anticipated and hyped games of our generation has come with numerous delays. And now we have another. A direct quote from creator Masahiro Sakurai states that Smash Bros. Brawl will be released in the Americas on March 9th:
"Due to delays in the completion of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, we've had to change the release date of the game to Sunday, March 9th. I deeply apologize to the people who have looked forward to playing the game for so long and ask that you hold on just a little longer. Thank you for your patience."
Not a good look at all. Another month of updates and speculation...I know it will be worth it, but I think I speak on behalf of all the fans...SMACK MY HEAD...

T.O. Sheds a Tear After Dallas loss
The Giants upset the Cowboys Sunday Causing Terrell Owens to get a little misty over criticism directed at his QB. Some fans point the finger of blame Romo and his 4th quarter interception as the reason for Dallas taking the L. Could it have been the Giant's defense putting pressure in the backfield all game? Who knows?
Also, you probably saw the Chargers beat the Colts with backups. LT and Phillip Rivers both were injured in the game but Norv has updates . In my non-professional opinion, Rivers better be playing if the Chargers want to have a chance at winning this weekend against the Patriots. The game plan should be to run as much time off the clock to keep the ball away from the Patriot's offense. But San Diego will need its offensive stars to bail them out in obvious passing situations that the Patriots defense will no doubt force you into. Defensively the Chargers have to smack Brady around and cause turnovers. Brady smacked = Brady angry = Brady mistakes = turnovers = Chargers in Superbowl. Not as easy as it sounds but beating an unbeaten team never is.
Good luck Bolts.

Introducing the MacBook Air?
With Macworld starting tomorrow, we've been hearing more & more rumors that Apple will be releasing a slim notebook, the "Macbook Air." This would make sense with the banner I posted last week. There have been more confirmations saying that domains under the Macbook Air name have been registered already. Who knows? We will find out tomorrow at 9 AM Pacific. For now, you can check out the teaser campaign on Apple.com, where Apple promises you will be able to watch the keynote pre-recorded on the site.

Air Jordan XX3 Goes Green
In a world today concerned with global warming and decreasing natural resources, Jordan Brand has decided to help the cause. According to Jeff Staple , the Nike Considered line had a heavy influence on the design of the XX3 . Hype surrounding this shoe began brewing once Jordan's signature line was introduced in 1985. This shoe, 23 years in the making, is a sign of the times, regardless of how you feel about the aesthetics. You have to give it to Tinker for a once again revolutionary design. I guess sneakerheads are turning into tree huggers!
